Excess Votes distribution going on

  • Quota for WIRC is 1131. So now excess vote distribution is going on
  • So after N C Hegde, Excess votes of Sanjeev Lalan (66 votes), and Shrinivas Joshi (63 votes) just completed
  • Now excess votes of Durgesh Kabra (60 votes) will begin
  • For all excess distribution, all second preference of all votes checked and then its proportionate fraction is distributed
  • So people might have increased some votes but its very minimal in fraction
  • You can imagine 60 votes and 44 contender and then distribute as per second preference, how much one will get, but process will naturally take very long
  • Can we opt for computerise voting process, so all distribution done by system itself? What do you think? Comment

  1. Its very surprising to see that the process is not computerised...rather than we should have a software designed for that....Institute always insist so much on Information Technology for students, members, but Institute itself is not utilising where they should....

We should not forget that we are able to get live updates from Ashwinbhai through Information Technology.Similarly we can make the maximum output through it in counting process

  6. I think looking to number of membership of ICAI as well as growth factor, Down the line ICAI will have to opt for electronic processing. In my opinion, Voting should contine to be manual, but process of counting should be computerised.

The simple wayout is to issue digital signatures and passwords to all the members at nominal price and ask the members to vote online on ICAI portal. Process will be fast, economical and full proof. Voting aso will be increased substantially.

  10. I heard this year was supposed to be evoting but due to the sad demise of that senior director dealing with the matter, whole project was kept in shelf, proper info might be obtained by some respected ccm though. But computerization is the way to future. One more way to show our lead over many self claiming accounting and management institutes.
