RC: Status after allocation of all the Excess Votes

Here is the status after allocation of all the excess votes of WIRC. I have provided below the colour coding. All those in green are sure likely to win and its matter of time for the declaration to that affect.

All those in amber are those, who seems to have lost. And those in yellow are still in contest and waiting for eliminations of the orange candidates.

Ahmedabad will now have all the three candidates. They have reached now to a level that it is not possible to drive them out in any case.

It seems, Nagpur has lost its one seat and only Julfesh Shah will be able to make it to council.

In Pune, Stayanarayan Mundada has surely made it to Regional council looking at the current situation. Sarvesh Joshi also likely to make it. I think Dilip Apte will be able to retain his seat.

CC: Elimination of Lalit Dangi

Here are the highlights:
  • No one has achieved the quota yet.
  • N C Hegde is back to no. 11 and he will stay for long on this no.
  • Pankaj Jain is still on no. 10. I thought he will get jump up after Lalit Dangi's elimination.

Would WIRC give its first chairman from Ahmedabad?

What Parag Raval has done is something unbelievable. You just can't think of a regional council candidate getting 2000 plus votes. Does this give any message? I understand the message is loud and clear written on the wall. Give the opportunity to lead the council to deserving candidates outside Mumbai too. The faith and confidence shown in Parag by the esteemed members by giving him a historic mandate, is a message, what people's wishes are. If you look at the distribution of excess votes of Parag, you will find everyone across the region has received the votes. This is a proof of his acceptability from  Ahmedabad to Aurangabad and Nagpur to Nadiad.

CC: More thrills ahead

More thrills ahead in Central Council. Please remember there are around 4500 votes to be eliminated below rank 15 where Prafulla Chhajed is. And the game changer will be the fact where these votes goes?

Mumbai votes has kept Prafulla Chhajed alive. N C Hegde seems to be very much in. And see, it is very interesting, Pankaj Jain is now at tenth. Though once Lalit Dangi is eliminated, he will shoot up again, but this roller coaster ride is worth enjoyment and thrilling. Also note, Hegde is back to 12th. Once Dangi eliminates, he too would be back to 11th place.

Where Poll Pundits went wrong

There are certain assumptions where poll pundits couldn't realise the reality on the ground and went wrong:

  1. SB Zavare was projected to secure maximum 1700 votes which went awfully wrong as Zavare turned out to be real Shivaji and conquered entire Maharashtra except Mumbai.
  2. The second surprise was Jay Chhaira. This fair skinned young man proved to be a dark horse whom no one expected to be even in first fifteen.
  3. Nihar Jambusaria was also under estimated as no one placed is projections beyond 1700 looking at his dismal performance in last elections. Poll pundits missed out his ability to link Borivali with industry via Reliance.
