IndianCAs upgrade Probability rating for Rajkumar Adukia and B M Agarwal

With more inputs coming from our various market observers. Our analysts has decided to upgrade probability ratings for senior sitting council member Rajkumar Adukia and first time contestant to Central Council B.M. Agarwal. We now believe they will get more votes than what we initially predicted. All the Best!!

First Count details not available before Monday Afternoon

The process of election counting is too slow. Till now only half the ballot boxes have been opened. Being Sunday, staff is less and some staff already left for the day. Process is likely to be stopped once Mumbai ballots are opened till 10 pm, and ten will resume Monday morning. And the first count will most likely to be available by Monday late afternoon.

So hold your anxieties and keep enjoying Sunday!!

Who fears what?

Its really interesting to note who fears what:

• Jaydeep Shah
• He got lots of vote from Pune last time. This time four Pune candidates and all strong. Working hard and could manage very very high voter turnout. This gives him sleepless nights. Pune candidate if get good no. of votes, he might not be benefited by their second preference.
• Praful Chhajed is in field and is a candidate of not less than 1000 votes. He has very good in roads in muffsil. So that may eat into his votes
• Gujarat has fielded many serious candidates. This will also impact Jaydeep bhai. He used to get very good votes from Gujarat. This time these votes will reach to him through second or third preferences only and this may cause him trouble.
• STRENGTH: he has worked very hard for members. he has been in touch with members. he has handled Board of Studies for last 3 years. These are stimulus for increase in his votes. So let us see, how increase compensate the decrease.

• Pankaj Jain
• Praful Chhajed eating into muffsil votes of Pankaj. Also he is sharing votes of the firm from which they did their article ship.
• Pune voting and its local candidates giving him tough time.
• STRENGTH: he comes from a very very reputed family.He has a very strong and deep routed family base. He has deep in roads in industry voters.

• Atul Bheda
• Candidature of Nilesh Vikamsey has vertically splited his vote bank. And that is giving him hard time.
• STRENGTH: He has worked really hard to reach to voters. he has maintained very very good rapport with voters throughout his tenure.

• Mahesh Sarda
• Very tough competition in Gujarat and 8 Candidates from Gujarat might make a dent into his first preference votes.
• STRENGTH: He has a very very vast vote bank of Deloitte, the firm from which he belongs and very strong regional council candidate like N C hegde from the same firm supporting him in Mumbai. And that gives him very very clar edge over all other Gujarat candidates. He has unstinted support in Saurashtra.

• Rajkumar Adukia
• Very tough competition in Gujarat, from where he gets a very large chunk of votes. It may impact his first preference votes. Brij Mohan Agarwal and Praful Chhajed will eat into his votes.
• STRENGTH: He has voters in each nook and corner of the region. From each polling booth he is sure to get some votes. His presence is everywhere. The great writer into him and then sharing the books to members free of charge has really made his fans everywhere. This gives him a great edge over his competitors. A focussd man with great strategies.

117 Ballot boxes are being opened.

Ballot boxes are being opened for both regional council and central council. There are around 117 ballot boxes. Speed is slow. After opening of each box, ballots are counted and tallied with the no. of votes casted. This process will really take very long. May be till late night, all ballot boxes will be opened.

 

Once all ballots are opened. Invalid votes will be determined. Then quota will be calculated and only then real process of making the stack of votes will be started. Once this process ends. First preference votes for each candidates will be counted.

Will WIRC see come back of female council member?

A million dollar question. Will WIRC see any woman council member? In last 3 terms and 9 years, we have seen only two woman regional council member. One Pooja Gupta and other Preeti Mahatme. Pooja had a bright career in WIRC but she went abroad after her maiden inning in WIRC. Then came Preeti Mahatme. She was a brand in herself. She represented Goa in both regional council and central council. But in my opinion it was brand Preeti who won and not Goa. It needs lots of courage, guts to become a Preeti. To repeat her performance for anyone, its really very very difficult if not impossible.

So what this time? How Vandana Dodhia and Shruti Shah are doing? Vandana attempted earlier two times but couldn't make it. Will she make this time? Will sympathy work in her favour? Will female voters consider Shruti or Vandana as their first preference? May be, may not be. Election Pundits say if we compare both of them Vandana no doubt has clear edge above Shruti. Let us see, what ballots say.

Is Kailash Mantry and Neel Majithia are dark horses?

Who are dark horses in Mumbai? Kailash Mantry or Neel Majithia? One election analyst says to me that you should watch Neel and Kailash both. People are under estimating them and they have really worked very hard and reached to voters door to door.  So keep eyes on them.

Shrinivas, Lalan, Durgesh, Dhiraj, Hegde seem to cross the quota in WIRC

• Unlike Central Council, all seating candidates in WIRC are not only comfortable but will top the charts. Very smooth sailing for all of them. And the big wigs like Shrinivas Joshi, Sanjeev Lalan, Durgesh Kabra, N C Hegde and Dhiraj Khandelwal are likely to get highest votes among all and are likely to cross the quota.
• Who struggling in sitting candidates? Though most of the sitting candidates in WIRC are going to improve their performance and get higher votes than vote they secured in last elections, but there are some people who are struggling. Market observers say that Makrand Joshi from Nagpur is really struggling. And that is because of strong competition by his arch rival Julfesh Shah. Whosoever get the more first preference votes, will be through the election. I personally believe Makrand Joshi, though may fighting tough battle, will ultimately win the war because of his being third term. But not as comfortable as last time. He may be on charts from 16th to 22nd place. But it all depends upon who gets the higher first preference votes. If Julfesh is above, one election Pundit says keep ready for the first surprise in the region.
• Chandrakant Pawar from Nashik too may not be improve his performance compared to last election. Reason being his competition. And also Umesh Sharma from Aurangabad who is going to give him very tough time, though it seems he will be able to make it. Pawar is my very good friend, all the best!!
• Goa? it's disheartening to note that you need a Preeti Mahatme to represent an entire state in council whether regional or central. Less no. of votes in Goa and fierce fighting in rest of Maharashtra and high turn out in Mumbai makes my dear friend Gautam Verlekar, handsome Goa candidate vulnerable. Sorry dear, I am really sorry about you if you are unable to make it.
• Pune is coming back to election arena with a very big bang. A city which has the largest no. of CA votes in region, the largest branch in western region has very rarely represented itself in Central council and very very poorly at regional council. Ahmedabad is smaller than Pune in no. of votes terms but still had 5 regional council members in last term and always once Central council member in each election. So welcome back, Pune, I can think of even 3 regional council members from Pune with undoubted lead of Dinesh Gandhi, who is likely to get highest no.s of first preference votes from Pune.
• Baroda is a sure seat always as usual. So no analysis required from there. Congratulations Rajesh Shah.
• Ahmedabad is a magic. 5 regional council members last time. If you are expecting a repeat performance from Ahmedabad, ready to be disappointed. I believe three members from Ahmedabad. Fourth can come in special case. How second preference works and how much the first preference each candidate gets. Parag Raval is undoubted leader in Ahmedabad getting highest no. of votes. But the problem is higher the first preference votes Parag gets, blinker are the chances of Yamal Vyas and Nitin Pathak. These two people should pray that Parag doesn't get very high first preference votes, because that will ruin their first ever regional council career in WIRC of ICAI.
• Who are going to top the charts from Ahmedabad? Unanimously Parag with highest no. of first preference votes. I believe, his second will be much below, and most likely B K Patel is going to rock the charts at second place. Third will be one from Amrish Patel, Yamal Vyas and Nitin Pathak, I personally believe Amrish Patel has a very good chance to stand third on the chart. But I said you, Parag's first preference may make or break the game. If Parag doesn't get high first preference votes, its Balle balle time for Yamal and Nitin. All three are strong contender for the thrid place. It's interesting to see vote voters think and what the ballot boxes has for them in store.
• Aamachi Mumbai. Mumbai is going to increase its seat this time. It looks like because of the increased voters turnout in Mumbai. Who is hot in Mumbai? As mentioned all sitting members are very very comfortable. Who are the new comers hitting the chart? Observers say the probability of Vishnu Agarwal, Anil Bhandari, Jayesh Kala are very very high and they are likely to make it to Regional Council.
• Surat made it after a very very long time last time. Will Surat again have it's presence in regional council? Observer from Surat says a big question. A divided house in Surat and very fierce fighting may be a big block in transferring second preference what to one another Surati. And if that happens, it will be very unfortunate that Surat will loose its seat it got last time. I wish it doesn't happen.

Bhavna, Jayant and Sanjeev seem to be sure winner!!

• When every one's heart beat seems to be elevated, it seems the Bhavna Doshi, Jayant Gokhale and Sanjeev Maheshwari should relax seat back and start working for the next stage of this election, the VP election.
• What about all seating Central council Members? In every election one seating Central Council Member looses. So there are many surprises this time too for the seating Central Council Members too. Observers say there are some names which seems vulnerable. Independent observers say Atul Bheda is fighting a very tough battle to save his seat. So is said for Jaydeep Shah, Mahesh Sarda, and Pankaj Jain. Some people include Rajkumar Adukia too as a weak candidate. But I personally think otherwise. I think looking at high voter turnout in Mumbai, all of them should be able to survive, but it looks sure one out of these five is sure to sink. So kamzor kadi Kaun? Let us see. I beleive Rajkumar Adukia will definately make it.
• What about new entrants? Oberver says the best chances are of Nilesh Vikamsey and Nihar Jambusaria. So who out of these two?
• What is going to happen to Praful Chhajed and Brij Mohan Agarwal? Some election observers consider them weak, but I personally feel, of these two ONE seems to be a sure shot to make in to Central Council. I personally would bet on B M Agarwal and see his better prospects.
• What about Tarun Ghia? Is he a dark horse? We have to wait till late evening.
• Pune will make a come back to central Council again? and yes then who? I believe Yes, Pune will get a confirm seat this time. Who will make it? Zavare, Arun or Bansal? Wait for some time. The key lies in the fact that who remain above the others? whomsoever will get higher first preference votes of these three, is sure to survive. Some election observer discount K L Bansal all together. But I think let us comment in evening about that.
• What Ahmedabad is doing? How Gujarat is going to vote? Two or Three from Gujarat? Some people claims there will be three from Gujarat, but I don't agree with that. I believe there will be only two. Then who are those two? One from Ahmedabad or two from Ahmedabad? Which two out of Durgesh Buch, Dhinal Shah and Mahesh Sarda? wait for my detailed analysis in next dispatch very soon.
• Who are sure losers? Independent Election Observers gives some names, Deshpande from Pune, Dilip Shah from Ahmedabad, Hardik Shah and B K Rathi from Surat, Ashok Thakkar from Baroda, and Mahesh from Thane. I keep my finger crossed.

Around 500 Postal Ballot received out of which around 40 invalid

Counting Process for the election 2009 starte dwith WIRC. All the postal ballots were opened and verified for its validity by validating the signatures of the voter. This process compted in evening. So today's task is over.

The process for opening the ballot boxes will start from tommorrow morning. Till evening all the ballot boxes will be opened and no. of ballots wl be counted and the total no. of valid votes will be determined and then only the real counting process will begin by Sunday evening.
